Join us on Monday, June 26 at 21:00 to sample a new beer brewed by Motel Beer: Confederation, and to meet the award-winning yeast maker behind this beer.

This beer was brewed in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, inspired by Canadian ingredients, using yeast from Ontario’s Escarpment Laboratories and hops from Chilliwack Hop Farms. Escarpment is Canada’s first independent yeast laboratory and distinguishes themselves by cultivating wild yeasts from the Canadian wilderness in addition to more conventional strains.
Richard Preiss, one of the cofounders of Escarpment Labs, will be in Berlin to talk about his yeast, their company and where he sees yeast as an ingredient heading based on their experience in Canada. We would love to invite you to join the discussion and taste the beer.

At the Canadian Brewing Awards on Saturday May 27, beers using Escarpment Labs yeast won 12 medals, including Beer of the Year and sweeping the “American Style Brett” category.
