Join us Saturday 16th, when Boilermakers come to The Monterey Bar.

Boilermakers, are believed to have taken their name from the locomotive workers and boilermakers of the 1800s in Scotland, Ireland, England and America. These workers were known to head to the bar at the end of their shift, and a shot of liquor with a beer became a staple for quickly easing the pain that came from a hard days work.

A new and more sophisticated movement has emerged in the last few years. Riding the wave of popularity that handcrafted beer and high-quality spirits are enjoying. The old practice has evolved beyond a lager and whiskey to include aged rums, gins, super smooth vodkas, sublime Scotch whiskies and countless more spirits. When paired up with malty red ales, Belgium style beers, hoppy India pale ales, roasty stouts and porters, these spirits and beers enter some tantalizing new realms of taste and character.

We must emphasize that this is NOT an attempt to get guests roaring drunk or rowdy. We ask that you drink responsibly, and know your limits.

These drink combo’s will be very pocket friendly and unique as it’s nearing Christmas time and it might be the last time we see you all for a few weeks at least. We want you to sip and enjoy a mouth-watering variety of world-class beverages in our cosy, relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
