In early 2015, brewers Derrick Morse and Chad Frost set their sights on historic Franklin, Tennessee as the home of Mantra Artisan Ales. Derrick, out of Boulder, Colorado had been brewmaster of a local brewpub for the past few years, creating a complex array of intricate beers earning him the nickname of “mad scientist.”

Chad returned to Franklin from a professional brewing program in Berlin, Germany. With the news that a local brewery would be vacating their facility to expand, Morse and Frost jumped the opportunity. Joining forces with chef Maneet Chauhan, the Mantra team set out to create premium, worldly-inspired artisan beers.

While in Berlin, Chad would often frequent Vagabund Brauerei, even at times helping to clean glasses during busy rushes. Now that Mantra's beers are available at Beereau in Berlin, we all thought it would be great to get all of us together and have a tap takeover.

At first, the plan was to have Chad Skype in a call to give some info about his story and about his beers, but it turns out that he'll be able to be here in person! Come on out, try some Mantra, and meet the man behind the beers.
