We have another event for Berlin Beer Week 2019 with North Brewing Co from Leeds, England.
North Brewing Co was founded in 2015 by John Gyngell and Christian Townsley, the pioneers behind legendary Leeds beer venue North Bar, which opened in 1997.Known as “the first craft beer bar in Britain”, North Bar influenced a new wave of modern beer bars and breweries across the country, including their own.
In 2015 they turned their 10-year dream of making their own beer into a reality by opening a 15bbl brewery, featuring a 200-person capacity tap room, just half a mile from their original flagship North Bar in Leeds.
The core range and seasonal specials epitomise what they look for in beer: big juicy flavours with tonnes of hops; fun, playful and interesting flavour combinations; classics that demonstrate an uncompromising approach to quality.
The brewery has worked with some of the best breweries in the world, collaborating with the likes of Lervig Øl (Norway), Dry & Bitter (Denmark), Basqueland Brewing Project (ESP), Het Uiltje (NL), De Molen (NL), Other Half and Finback (USA), Magic Rock, BrewDog, Verdant, Thornbridge, Track Brewing and Wylam Brewery (UK).
In just two years North Brewing Company has received both national and international recognition.
Voted ‘Overall Keg Champion Beer’ at the SIBA Independent Beer Awards in 2018
Named ‘Best Brewery Pub Company’ at The Publican Awards in 2017 and 2018
Voted ‘Best UK IPA in 2017’ in the Imbibe ‘IPA Challenge’ for Transmission
Awarded ‘Best New Brewery’ in West Yorkshire in the Rate Beer Awards 2017
Awarded ‘Business Innovation’ category at the SIBA Business Awards 2018
Winner of ‘Best Branding and Design’ at The Beer and Cider Marketing Awards 2018
On tap for this event on a sunny sunday evening in Berlin will be the following North Brewing beers
Pinata Pale Ale with Mango & Guava 4.5% A softly tropical pale ale with stone fruit aromas of guava and mango and a strong hoppy finish.
Transmission IPA 6.9% An award-winning IPA and our core range headliner. Tropical aroma balanced with bright and bittersweet resinous flavours. Hazy orange appearance and soft, juicy mouthfeel.
Temescal IPA with Elderflower 6.5% Brewed with our friends Temescal from Oakland California, we foraged for elderflower to add in the whirlpool. This gives a light floral and earthy flavour that combines with cascade and mandarina bavaria hops. It's has a pineapple and stone fruit aroma with a full body and slight bitterness.
Session Pale Ale with El Dorado & Citra 4.1% The latest in our pale series is lovely and soft with low bitterness. It's full of tropical and stone fruit notes, making this pale juicy and exceptionally drinkable.
Stu Mostow Collab Triple Fruit Gose with White Guava & Raspberry 4.5% This edition is brewed with guava and raspberry and is a little more sour than previous iterations, with a sharpness from the raspberries. The guava adds a rounded sweetness to the flavour, and the body is thick smoothie goodness.
Glass Museum Lager 5% Our first lager! All kinds of refreshing with a little biscuity sweetness and lightly hopped with citra.
Come join us and North Brewing for the sunday session at Monterey Bar
