At Uppers and Downers we relish the diversity and deliciousness in the craft scene; be it coffee, beer, wine, chocolate, whatever. But as people immersed in it, we often find the most enjoyment when craft is taken out of context.

Uppers & Downers started as an experiment bringing together craft beer and coffee culture, exploring the process, technique, and even origin of these ingredients. Since then it’s gone on to include cross-overs from a variety of other craft cultures. Our 2019 series includes events in Chicago, London and for the first time, Berlin.

ON THE DAY
14:00 - 19:00

On arrival, ticket holders will be given a custom glass on entry - yours to use and keep. Once you receive your glass, we invite you join us in meeting the roasters and brewers, tasting what they’ve brought to share (all tastings are included in ticket price), and enjoying all the social aspects of a full afternoon of liquids.

Many events require participants to pay for inclusion, and furthermore to give away their produce for free. We wanted to turn the tables by using the ticket price to cover their costs. This removes all the financial burden (especially for the smaller producers); gives them more freedom to experiment and make something special just for us; and means everyone can afford to pour more than a splash in every glass because in the end, we’re also all here for fun!

We’ve assembled an incredible selection from Europe’s best roasters and brewers, and invited them to serve beautiful coffees, beers and if the urge takes them to find out what happens when their powers combine. There’s plenty of room for all palates here, and sure to be some surprises and new favourites in the mix
